Details:Manages, administers and develops commercial business relationships in accordance with established policies and procedures to ensure that objectives established for profitability, risk management, and business retention and development are accomplished.  The primary focus of the position is to manage more complex and larger relationships, while developing new customers and referral contacts.  Mentoring is a key element of this role.  The position reports to the Team Leader.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / EXPECTATIONS (Weighting cannot exceed 100%; Each % represents the value of the job, not time spent): Summary:  A high degree of independent judgment on a wide range of issues is required to meet the challenges of a Client Manager at this level.  Day to day activities should require very little supervision.  The person in this position is responsible for originating new credit and non-credit business for the bank while maintaining a portfolio of client relationships that are considered substantial or have high revenue potential.  Prospecting for new business relationships is a very important focus for this position.    Job Performance Behaviors: Contributing to organization success, job effectiveness, relationships and customer satisfaction.  (Weighting Percentage: 20%) Client Relationships:  Act as a trusted financial advisor to clients and prospects.  Solicit business across the entire spectrum of Bank products and services from key clients and prospects that are representative of high revenue potential to the Bank.  Service the needs of current and prospective commercial clients of the Bank, acting as the primary liaison between the client and other departments of the Bank; Follow through to determine results.  Ensure customer satisfaction and the resolution of service problems (Weighted Percentage: 25%) Credit Related Activities:  Conduct interviews, including on-site visits, to obtain financials and other pertinent information necessary to underwrite credit requests.  Coordinate the preparation of financial analysis and credit packages and structure more complex credits in an appropriate fashion that creates value for the client while adhering to the high underwriting standards of the Bank.  Make presentations to the Loan Committee(s) and participate as an active member of the Officers Loan Committee.  Negotiate terms and conditions of credit and non-credit services with clients.  Maintain ongoing supervision of clients who have credit relationships and make recommendations to the Division Head regarding loan risk ratings.  Detect potential credit problems and apply techniques of problem loan administration, including “action plans" for loan customers demonstrating a weakening financial condition. (Weighted Percentage: 25%) Business Development Activities:  Follow up specific leads offering business development opportunities among high potential clients and prospects.  Contact and maintain relationships with likely sources of referrals to the Bank.  Maintain product knowledge and demonstrate very skilled selling techniques to generate credit and non-credit sales along all product offerings of the Bank. (Weighted Percentage: 25%) Other Duties:  Mentor Client managers who have a more junior status and less experience.  Perform summary memos for other member of executive management.  Maintain an active role in community affairs, including serving on various higher profile public boards.
